St John Ambulance Awards

St John Ambulance Logo 2418 (Sherwood) Sqn is pleased to announce that 33 out of 33 cadets who took the St. John Ambulance Young Lifesavers Award successfully passed and were awarded their certificates on Thursday 15th January 2009.

The Young Lifesaver Course provides advanced training in First Aid for young people aged over 10 years of age. Some of the topics covered in the course include:

This was a great achievement for the Sqn and now these skills can be put into practical use in cadet activities and in real life situations. The course lasted for a number of sessions over a two month period and finished with a practical and written exam assessing all the skills that had been taught during the course.

Cpl Daniel Grant was also presented with a trophy for gaining 100% in the examinations.
