Wing Swimming
Wing swimming was a great and successful event for the wing and squadron more importantly. The day began quite slowly as all the administration for the day was taken care of by the Wing and squadron. The whole event had had four categories senior boys, senior girls, junior boys and junior girls. Each category had 6 events freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, individual medley and 4 x 2 relay. The events consisted of heats and then the best 6 in each heat were entered into the finals. The exception to this was the individual medley and relay which were straight finals.
Our squadron faired quite well from the hard and stiff competition of the other squadrons in the wing, we ended up in 10th place in the wing overall which is quite a respectable place taking into account the other 29 squadrons in the wing. We finished 3rd in the senior boys category and joint 15th place in the senior girls category (with only one girl). We finished in joint 11th place for junior boys and joint 7th junior girls. These set of results are quite encouraging for our squadron taking into the account the size of the sqn. Along with the good set of results we also have two of our cadets CDT Tizzard and CPL Mishra who managed to make a place for themselves in the Wing swimming team, CPL Mishra is representing the Wing in breaststroke and breaststroke relay at region swimming and CDT Tizzard will be representing the wing in the freestlyle relay.
Our congratulations go to the two cadets and for making the team. Our cadets worked really hard for the event and have managed to produce great set of results.
