2418 attend the Southwell Minster Re-Dedication Parade
Recently cadets assembled at the Southwell Minster War Memorial for a parade to celebrate the brave people who fought on D-Day and to also commemorate the hard work and dedication of the Royal British Legion and what they do. After the laying of the wreaths at the monument, the parade marched towards the Southwell Minster to begin the ceremony.
Readings were given and FS Foster of 2418 (Sherwood) Squadron was chosen to read a short reading from the Ode of Remembrance to acknowledge the brave soldiers of both past and present. After the ceremony was complete, 2418 and the rest of South and East Midlands Wing gathered for an inspection from the Lord Lieutenant who was very interested in all of the cadets and their achievements within their time of being within the Air Training Corps.
All thoroughly enjoyed the evening and SGT Sam Holmes commented, "It was an amazing service to remember those who have fought and still fight for our country today, something I will never forget".
