Presentation Evening 2022
Recently, 2418 (Sherwood) Squadron hosted their annual dinner.
During the dinner, we take the time to reflect on the achievement of the cadets and the squadron. It has been a difficult and long road to get the squadron back up and running again. We send our thanks to cadets that turned up every virtual parade night, the support from the staff team and the organisation for setting up additional activities for the cadets to take part in.
This dinner was significant to the squadron as two of our long-standing staff members have decided to retire. Squadron Leader(Sqn Ldr) Donna Bates and Warrant Officer(WO) Martin Bates has served the squadron and the wider wing (south and east midlands) for 30 years. Sqn Lrd Bates and WO Bates have inspired our current cadets, cadets of the past, and the staff team. Sqn Lrd Bates and WO Bates will be missed immensely, and we wish them all the best in spending a more than well deserved time away from the organisation.
The following awards were presented:
Academic Achievement: Corporal(Cpl) E Woodhouse
Outdoors Person of the year: Cpl E Woodhouse
Best First Class cadet: Cadet(Cdt) M Dillon
NCO Recognition: Sgt C Walter
NCOs Choice: Cdt S Cooke
The Galloway Award: Civilian Instructor(CI) V Sohal
Outstanding contribution in the community:
Most dedicated cadet: Cpl M Husbands
Best all-around cadet: Cpl E Woodhouse
